*Former Lebanon national team player, now a sports sociologist, researcher and journalist.

Her story

Aged 12, she joined a local club in Lebanon and eventually earned the honor of representing her country with the national team.

Still, she constantly faced the gender stereotypes that come along with playing a sport traditionally perceived as male dominated.

Determined to change the narrative, she decided to combine lived experience with academic knowledge. She earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s in sports management in Lebanon, before moving to France to pursue a PhD in Sports Sociology.
